Cancellation Policy

Unlike medical doctors who can see 6-12 patients in one hour, we set aside a full therapy hour for you.  This is 45-50 minutes that is for your use exclusively.  Because of this, we can only schedule a limited number of people for one day.  This makes our cancellation policy extremely important.   

If you are unable to keep your appointment or if you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, we will need you to pay the cancellation fee.  Notifying us of your intention to cancel or reschedule 24 hours in advance gives us an opportunity to schedule someone else for that time slot.

You will never be charged for a cancellation if it is made more than 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time. 

For this reason, we do require you to have a credit card on file.  If you cancel with less than 24 hours, or do not attend your appointment, you will be charged for the missed appointment.

This cancellation policy is standard in the medical and mental health fields and will be strictly enforced.  On occasion, there will be understandable reasons for missing appointments, but exceptions to this policy will be rare.

You may email or call us to notify me that you need to cancel or reschedule.  If you continue to receive reminders, this in an indication that your appointment is not canceled. 

When you receive a reminder notification, you do not have to confirm the appointment for the appointment to be considered valid.  (Not confirming the appointment is NOT the same as canceling the appointment.)

If you are going to be late, please call or email to let us know.  Your appointment time will be held for you and you will have the time which remains in that hour.  As long as you arrive within your scheduled hour, you will not be charged for a missed appointment.
